WEST CHESTER – Friends, supporters, and voters from the state’s 156th
Legislative District are invited to attend a breakfast with Barbara McIlvaine
Smith Thursday morning at Murray’s Deli. Barbara McIlvaine Smith, running for the
second time for State Representative, will discuss how she will bring change
to Harrisburg.

“Our legislators should do the work of the people. For too long, this
Republican-controlled assembly has focused on wedge issues, instead of working to
bring Affordable Access to Healthcare, Reform to Public Education, and a
Cleaner and Healthier Environment to the people of our district and our
commonwealth. We simply cannot afford to continue with this lack of leadership -- not
while our children suffer from asthma and autism, not while our small
businesses struggle to offer health insurance to their employees and not while our
property taxes skyrocket. Republican leaders at both the Federal and State
levels have failed to fund the programs they have mandated. I believe it is time
for a change, and I will fight every minute of every day for the people of
this district,” Barbara McIlvaine Smith said.

Barb’s roots in the region date back to 1683 when her ancestors purchased
land from William Penn. She and her family have lived here since then. Barb and
her husband Bob have raised their children here and now have a grandchild.
Twenty organizations have endorsed Barbara McIlvaine Smith as the best
choice for the 156th Legislative District.

State Senator Andy Dinniman, coming off a decisive victory earlier this
year, will endorse Barbara McIlvaine Smith Thursday.

“It is lonely in Harrisburg. I need Barbara’s support and the Governor
needs Barbara’s support so we can advance the diverse issues and concerns of the
people. Barb understands the value of the land, and the need for our
representatives to find consensus, to move Pennsylvania forward. I know Barbara will
be the strong, straightforward legislator this district needs,” Dinniman
said.
