Hanna, Ike and me

Hanna and Ike followed me around as I knocked on doors today. Thank goodness it was only heavy rain and not heavy winds. Initially, I may not have been singin' in the rain like Gene Kelly, but I am determined to meet as many people as I can before November 4th.

In East Goshen, I spoke to a retired teacher who thanked me for my work this term on the Cost Of Living Adjustment (COLA). Even though the bill hasn't yet passed the House, I am determined to see it through.

I'm also working on a bill that will address the unethical annual COLA that the PA State Legislature approved for themselves in 1995. The increase was based on the cost-of-living index in Philadelphia, which is much higher than the rest of the state. I want to change that.

Now that I've been in Harrisburg for almost two full years, I understand how things work. Moreover, I understand what needs to change. And I am determined.
